BIO
Annika Sellik is an Estonian-born artist based in Norway, mainly working with site-sensibility and reflections on sound, thriven by speculative research and perceptions; often embodying a form of spatial and site-sensible audio installations.
Her practice often involves slow listening and field recording, with a special interest on bio-acoustics, addressing psycho-acoustic aspects of audible matter. She is consciously using slow processes in a relation to archaic memory and skills; and looking for sustainable solutions - where radical care taking becomes an act providing her mental space to observe, reflect and to honour the natural environments, materials and to question on her knowledge and limits of human human understanding.
Her practice often manifests in transformations or reflections of spaces rather than using space as a context to show her work.
